Lapland Sami culture and reindeer sledding

The Sami have used reindeer and sleds to transport people and equipment for hundreds of years. On this exciting tour, you will learn how they drive the reindeer sleds and also gain a real insight into the fascinating Sami culture.

Learn about the reindeer, how the Sami take care of them and the way they can use the reindeer for craftwork, clothes and of course for food for the family. After your ride in the reindeer-driven sled, you can try
lasso throwing and hear joik, the traditional Sami song, hear more about Sami culture and perhaps enjoy a cup of black coffee in the lavvo (Sami tipi).
We offer this tour in the daytime as well as in the evening. In the daytime, you can enjoy the fantastic views of the Lyngen Alps from the reindeer sled. And in the evening, maybe you'll see the northern lights!

Join an authentic Sami guide from a reindeer herding family for an unforgettable experience of pure reindeer sledding and Sami culture on the outskirts of Tromsø. During the visit, you'll experience: a reindeer sledding trip, about 50 min., lasso throwing, storytelling, joik (traditional Sami song), a taste of black coffee in the lavvo, and a hot soup. Choose from: fish soup/Norwegian national stew and  vegetarian option.

Anyone visiting the AURORA ALPS basecamp in Breivikeidet will now have the opportunity to buy souvenirs from our selection.
