An evening of Lapland Sami culture with reindeer sledding - Aurora Alps

The Sami have been using reindeer and sleds to transport people and equipment for hundreds of years. On this exciting tour, you will learn how they drive the sleds and also gain a real insight into the fascinating Sami culture.

After your ride in the reindeer-driven sled, you can try lasso throwing and hear a 'joik', the traditional Sami song.

Join an authentic Sami guide from a reindeer herding family for an unforgettable experience of pure reindeer sledding and Sami culture at the edge of Tromsø. You can enjoy fantastic views of the nature around us and look towards the Lyngen Alps from the reindeer sled. Plus this evening adventure also gives you a good chance of seeing the northern lights. It truly is a heart-stopping moment when the aurora appears in the sky. The lights dance across the sky, changing colour and form, billowing and shimmering.

During the visit, you'll experience: a reindeer sledding trip, about 50 min., lasso throwing, storytelling, joik (traditional Sami song) and a taste of black coffee in the wooden 'lavvo' dwellings. Anyone visiting the AURORA ALPS basecamp at Breivikeidet will now have the opportunity to buy souvenirs from our selection too.
